Blizzard 2013

We made an awesome tubing track from the top of the hill!

Lots of folks came over Sunday to go sledding and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Brayden tubing.

Jack do NOT want me to take his pic in the snow blower track.

Brayden didn't mind as much....

"Everyday I'm Shoveling!"

I'll just help myself!

Trouble!

No Brayden's were harmed in the capturing of this moment. Stunts were done by a professional climber. Kids, don't try this at home.

So I was adding some new monthly pictures to the side bar of the Blog here. There is no denying that these two are brothers! Look at Brayden's 8 month shot and Jacks 9 month.

Man that was a good nap!

Hallowthanksmas

Jack is starting a new Holiday Tradition called Hallowthanksmas!
From Yesterday's Preschool Update:
Today at circle, we talked about how we celebrate Thanksgiving! We asked the children how they celebrate Thanksgiving, and here's what was said-
Jack: I get some turkey and I eat chicken and I put some lights up and make some pumpkin pies and plant some pumpkin seeds

Growing Footprints

Jack & Brayden recently started going to a new daycare in Charlton.

They both seem to really love it there. Although Jack says that he doesn't like to go because he has to take a nap! However, I have good information from his teacher that he is usually the first one to fall asleep! In fact, the other day she told me that she went over to him when he was laying on his mat and she asked him if he wanted her to rub his back. Jack's response was: "Oh, Miss Ann, I have been waiting ALL day for someone to ask me that!" Ha... what a cutie. He is going to break hearts someday!

Mommy & Daddy like this new daycare because we are kept informed on a (almost) daily basis of what they did in the preschool class with an email and pictures. It is nice to be able to ask leading questions rather than "What did you do today?" "Nothin'..." Sounds familiar?! Here is a excerpt from today's email and the associated pictures. I thought that it was an awesome one, so I figured that I'd share. I wish that I was in Preschool with him today!

" Today at circle we continued our discussion on our 5 senses! We talked about how we use our eyes to see different things, our noses to smell different things, and our hands to touch and feel different materials. We also talked about how we'd be using our senses in our activities for today!

 Activities-
  • Art: Blind fold painting! At the art table today, each child had to use their sense of touch while painting today. Melissa and I put paper towels around the children's eyes while they were painting so that they could not see. What we thought would be a really messy activity turned into something really fun! The children surprisingly didn't miss their papers, and were so proud of their final painting for not being able to see.
  • Math: Magnatiles! The children got to use their sense of sight and touch to build with the magnatiles with friends today at the math table.
  • Science: Smelly sticks! Over at the science table today were different spices in bags taped to Popsicle sticks. Each stick was labeled with the name of the spice, and it was fun to see how the children made connections to the scents. A popular one was cinnamon, which everyone pointed out from cinnamon toast.
  • Sensory(wet) : Water with water beads! In the table today was water with florist water beads. These became invisible when the water was added, and the children had to use their sense of feeling to find the beads. They loved the feel of them, and were over at this table for hours trying to find them, and learning that with water they'd become invisible.
  • Sensory (dry) : Clean mud! At the other sensory table, we made clean mud! To make clean mud, we used soap that was cut up and grated, toilet paper and water. It makes a muddy consistency, but isn't nearly as dirty as mud. The children had a blast at this table and loved the feel of it!
Once activities were over, the children sat on the rug and sang songs while lunches were being put out on the table. Everyone ate really well, and by 1:30 everyone was sleeping on their cots!"

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween

After a Fun day of Halloween parties, we all went up to Overlook to "Scare Meema!"

Thanks to Grandma Phyllis for taking these great photos, because mommy forgot her camera!

Because Brayden was going to be in his Halloween Costume all day at daycare, we opted  to not put him in his extra stuffing Monster Costume that he wore last weekend and went with a cute Skunk costume that Jack pulled out of a box that we had gotten from the Marcoux's a few years back.
